The Reason Everyone Is Having Internet Problems…
Half of the world’s internet and telecommunications have been disrupted all because some idiot apparently dropped his anchor on the cable in Alexandria, Egypt. Great.
So why isn’t this critical cable better shielded? And why aren’t there redundant systems?

The whole idea behind the Internet is that it was -supposed to- withstand a NUCLEAR attack and still be functioning through a mesh of redundant links…
But I don’t think all of Jordan was off. Looks like there are a number of redundant links that are compensating at the moment

And now some 3rd cable cut somewhere else? 3 cables on one week? This is a coincidence?
For the mental health of the Kingdom, for the safety of snow-bound families with internet-addicts within, for the writers who are having heart-attacks because of pressure their editors…please get those cables fixed, guys!
(oh yea, and for ex-pat Jordanian bloggers dying for photos of snow-men from home…)

Qwaider, yeah, I’ve had internet…although it is creeping slow. So the redundant links must be working somewhat…at 56kpb/s, that is.
Kinzi, I feel your pain.
